Thank You for Supporting Staff Safety and Preparedness at Crossroads
We are deeply grateful to The Nonprofit Training and Advancement Fund of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region for their generous support of Red Cross CPR and First Aid training for our staff at Crossroads Center for Children. This important gift allows us to bring high-quality, on-site training directly to our team, ensuring that our classrooms and learning spaces remain safe, responsive, and prepared every day.
Thanks to this grant, staff members will participate in a blended training model that includes virtual learning and hands-on, in-person instruction, leading to a two-year CPR and First Aid certification. For the children and families we serve—many of whom have complex medical, developmental, or communication needs—this training is essential. It strengthens our ability to respond quickly and confidently in emergency situations and reinforces the culture of care and responsibility that defines Crossroads.
Beyond certification, this training is an investment in our people, supporting professional development, building confidence, and ensuring that our dedicated staff have the tools they need to focus on what matters most: helping children learn, grow, and thrive.
Thank you so very much!
A Heartfelt Thanks to the Lundy Legacy Foundation 5.6.2025
At Crossroads Center for Children, we believe in the power of community—and this week, we were deeply moved by an extraordinary act of generosity.
Today we received, unsolicited, a grant from the Lundy Legacy Foundation of The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region; what a wonderful surprise! This will help us to continue delivering highly individualized programming to children with autism and their families. This support comes at a time when it’s more important than ever: with autism now affecting 1 in 31 children, the demand for quality, evidence-based services continues to grow.
What makes this gift even more meaningful is the personal connection. We were honored to learn that the grant was recommended by Noreen and Gerry Burch, advocates for children and champions of our mission. Their belief in what we do means the world to us—and to the children whose lives are changed here every day.
At Crossroads, every child we serve receives a program tailored specifically to their needs. Through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—the gold standard in autism education—we help our students make real progress in communication, behavior, motor skills, social development, and daily living. For many of them, Crossroads is the first place where they experience success. Support such as this helps make that possible.
We are excited to share our journey throughout the year and invite our supporters to visit, learn more, and see the impact firsthand. This grant is an investment in the future of our children, and a beacon of hope for families across our region.
From all of us at Crossroads: thank you for believing in our work and walking this path with us.
