Kathy, Library Volunteer

A Shout Out to Kathy

Kathy is here each week to read to the kids. Classroom teachers sign up for one of four slots per week, so not everyone gets a turn each week, but over time, the rotation can include everyone. She is incredibly dynamic and engages the students at so many levels, not to mention the humor that she plants that delights our staff as well. You're awesome Kathy! Thanks for all you do! Visit Rooms 7 & 5 to see recent classroom visits.

Crossroads was selected by Special Olympics to help pilot a new program that integrates all sorts of academic, social and physical concepts into a curriculum that lasts all year. We were excited to help, however ran into a variety of difficulties getting it done. That is until 4 interns from Union College joined us! They’ve teamed up, each running one of the components in Room 5, and it has been wonderful. The children absolutely love the activities that Maggie, Katie, Sage and Trish bring in each week, and additionally have bonded with these individuals in heart-warming ways. The Room 5 teaching team is thrilled with the program too. We’re very thankful!
