What is Crossroads Center for Children?

Crossroads is a non-profit school which specializes in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to help children. Crossroads is located in Rotterdam. Students come from up to 10 surrounding counties and 30 school districts from the Capital Region. We were founded in 1998 to help the growing numbers of children diagnosed with autism, and to this day, the majority of our students come with this diagnosis; however, we also serve students with other special needs, as well as many with general education needs who come to be part of our phenomenal integrated preschool and nursery school classrooms.

Why is fundraising so important?

Crossroads is a registered 501c3 organization, making fundraising through events, grants and donations critical to fulfilling our mission. Your attendance will help us to meet our fund development goals and impact directly on our services to the children.

Where does Crossroads have its Gala?

This year’s Gala (4/13/19) will be presented at the beautiful Appel Inn https://www.appelinn.com/ located at 590 State Route 146, Altamont, NY 12009· (518) 861-6557. In previous years we have held our gala at other lovely venues in the area, such as the Mohawk River Country Club and Chateau in Rexford, the Waters Edge Lighthouse in Glenville, Key Hall in Schenectady, The Stockade Inn in Schenectady, Eagle Crest Golf Course in Clifton Park, the Mohawk Club in Niskayuna and Mallozzi’s in Rotterdam. Changing venues allows us to give business to the many beautiful establishments in the area, as well as to provide a change of scenery for our loyal guests.

Where do I stay?

Overnight guests have a variety of nearby hotels to choose from. Let us recommend the University Area Hampton Inn by Hilton. Located at 1442 Western Avenue, Albany, NY 12203, (518) 438-0001. Guests should use this BOOKING LINK:  http://group.hamptoninn.com/CrossroadsGala to reserve a room within a Crossroads Gala block that is being reserved at a discounted price ($121/night) especially for our overnight attendees.

What happens at the Gala?

Once you check in at the door, you’ll be able to enjoy a cocktail hour and mingle with friends old and new with common hearts about our cause. During this time there will be an abundance of food offerings as well as an exquisite array of silent auction items to bid on and wines to pull from a grand selection. Presentations will be made by Emcees, Heather Morrison and Steve Oill and Executive Director, Kelly Young, recognizing staff members, board members, special guests, and honor award recipients. Stunning foods will be prevalent throughout. The joys of music and dancing will be ongoing, brought to us by the phenomenal DJ Zac Barr who is donating his services for the evening for the 10th year in a row. The evening culminates in a live auction, to be led by the dazzling LeGrande Serras who is donating his services for our event.
