On a Roll!

November 16, 2017

We all know how important it is for kids to get physical activity, right?

So, when we tell you that every classroom at Crossroads Center for Children has a daily P.E. (Physical Education) slot you won’t be surprised.

Neither will it be a huge surprise to hear that our teachers and therapists teach the students how to engage in lots of different physical activities, nor that they make the activities tons of fun.

What’s really awesome though, is seeing the kids learn how to engage. For example, if you already know how to ride a scooter, great. Hop right on and go! But if you’ve never even seen one before, or if you’ve seen one but haven’t gotten it quite figured out how to get it to go, well, if you’re a Crossroads student, your teacher will actually get on the scooter with you and teach you – one scoot at a time!

If you’d like your car or bike to move, but you don’t know what to do to make it go?  You can rest assured that your teachers will guide you and get you going. So will your friends!

And if your class goes out for time on the bikes, well, expect the same special treatment.

Soon enough, you’re on a roll!

You’ll feel so proud and accomplished, as well as healthy and strong!

Yes, when we tell you that each of our classrooms has a Physical Education slot every day, you’ll also know that their class is super fun. You’ll be sure that the students are learning how to perform the smaller parts to master the bigger activities. You’ll understand that often what makes a difference is that teachers actually get on the vehicles to help the students learn the movements. Because physical activity is important for kids, so teaching our students how to engage in the activities is important too.
