First Time With Our Mystery Reader

November 14, 2017

Last week, Room 4 had their very first time sitting and listening to a story with Mrs. Frances, our “Mystery Reader” volunteer!

As noted before on this blog, children learn attending skills little by little, with lots of practice. Sitting in a chair and listening to someone read, especially when the reader is someone new, is a skill that Room 4 was happy to have a chance to work on.

With lots of individual attention from the Room 4 teachers, and positive reinforcement for staying seated, the class was able to enjoy three short children’s books!

Great job Room 4!

It’s exciting to see the work and progress of the students at Crossroads Center for Children. Check out this article if you’re interested in seeing some precious recent moments from another classroom http://crossroadcenter.org/room-1s-leaf-rubbing-project/.
