Crossroads at Festival of Trees

The Very Hungry Caterpillar  11.23.22

For several years, we have decorated a tree at the YWCA in Schenectady, for the Festival of Trees. We have been using book themes, since we love literacy so much! This year’s theme was the book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle. Each class or department made an ornament to represent the caterpillar, the butterfly, and the foods he ate to get to be a butterfly.
Many thanks to each student and staff member for your creativity and enthusiasm!
We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season, and encourage you to visit the YWCA’s website or that of the Schenectady County Historical Society to learn about visiting the Festival of Trees this year.
Here is a wonderful animated film of this book we found on Youtube!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75NQK-Sm1YY
And here is a video made from the pictures below.
