Classrooms With Character

September 27, 2017

The start of the school year is the perfect time to create a welcoming and exciting classroom environment.

One in which everyone belongs, where the special qualities of each person are valued, and where learning goes beyond academic skills.

Room 11’s art wall displays how they’ve been doing just that!

Character development, personal reflection, sharing about one’s self with others…..

These colorful projects were created in class by this school-aged classroom over the course of several sessions.

Students were required to think of words to self-describe in their rainbows of character-traits, and then choose colors, fabrics and materials for self-portraits.

They even created cakes to show their birthdays and ages.

Awesome work, Room 11! Your achievements are inspiring!

Crossroads Center for Children now has 10 classrooms. 3 of these are school-aged classrooms. The school is located at 1136 North Westcott Rd. in Schenectady, and serves children from 2-12, both with and without special needs. Learn more by calling us at (518) 280-0083.
