A rainy day read is a good choice!

November 09, 2018

Parents ask our teachers for ideas for activities to do on a rainy day like today.

It’s too wet for outside play and they want to limit screen time activities too.

Teachers here will always recommend reading time, whether the weather is rainy or dry! On a rainy day like today, many classrooms give a little extra time to their students to hit the books.

Sometimes called “DEAR” time, or “Drop Everything And Read,” kids love it when a big box of books is put on the rug and they can pick what they want to read. This encourages choice-making as well as a life-long love of reading.
Here’s a glimpse of Room 6 in their rainy day reading time today!
